Medical Acupuncture
I began studying acupuncture in earnest after I realized that my patients weren't always getting better through the use of conventional western medicine's protocols and treatments. There was quite a bit of managing disease, rather than improving it.
At that time, I began to be able to hear what my patients were actually telling me. They weren't interested in pharmaceuticals, they weren't interested in surgery. They wanted natural remedies that were congruent with their belief systems, and they wanted to know what they could do to improve their own health, to heal their own illnesses.
Through acupuncture, I wanted to offer my patients a time tested alternative therapy that they could depend on to treat the wide variety of illness that they suffered from.
I studied acupuncture in Taiwan, and in the US with a physicians' acupuncture program accredited by Stanford University (at the time). From there, I began studying with various master acupuncturists, eventually learning a variety of different styles.
It's my belief that every system of medicine known to man is incomplete in it's ability to address the entirety of human illness - and Chinese Medicine is no different in that regard. As such, my style of treatment incorporates many different styles, including Balance Method, TCM, Auricular Acupuncture, Scalp Acupuncture, Muscle Channel Technique, French Energetics, and Worsley Five Element, to name a few.
Most recently, I've become interested in the influence of time on health and disease, whether it's the time that you were born or the time that a treatment is performed, the emerging research shows that time is important factor in your healing. Join me as I explore the interaction of medicine and time!
